Job Summary

The Human Resources Division is seeking a knowledgeable, results-oriented professional to join our team and serve as a Compensation Analyst II for Total Rewards.

Essential Functions

Performs a variety of complex classification and compensation activities including job analysis, continuous audits, organizational studies, job specification development and market salary analysis.

Supervises the activities of the Compensation/ Total Rewards staff, to include assigning/overseeing work, coaching, corrective actions, and completing performance appraisals.

Supervises activities related to retirement services and subordinate staff who perform advanced, specialized, complex duties related to administration of the County\'s retirement plans. (Florida Retirement System and 457 deferred compensation plans).

Monitors and administers deferred compensation contracts pertaining to employee compensation.

Provides compensation and regulatory compliance (i.e., FLSA) assistance and training to staff.

Provides information and explanations regarding Compensation policies and procedures.

Interacts with staff members at all levels of the organization as well as collaborating and networking with the leaders of local organizations to stay abreast of developments and available local resources.

Confers with management and staff throughout the organization on complex work problems related to classification and compensation activities; organizes and oversees large and complex organizational studies.

Monitors changes in laws and regulations affecting compensation; recommends practice and procedural changes as necessary.

Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are accurately followed in all Total Rewards functions.

Assists with internal controls, compliance reporting and producing standard HR metrics.

Understands the applicable County, State and Federal regulations that apply to performing the essential job functions and ensuring adherence to these requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree required, supplemented by four (4) years of related experience.

Candidates without a degree should possess four (4) additional years of related experience.

Fingerprinting required.

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SP certifications preferred.

  • Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
  • Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County\'s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
