A DAY IN THE LIFE: Responsible for negotiating, delivering, and managing Pharmacy and DME contractual relationships with managed care organizations, third party payors, and preferred provider networks within an assigned region, as well as with area distributors to ensure Tandem\xe2\x80\x99s ability to process any and all pump opportunities.

  • Develops and manages a list of targeted payors established through coordination with Territory Managers and Regional Sales Managers.
  • Prioritizes and develops payor and distributor contacts as a foundation for contractual relationships.
  • Obtains managed care contracts and participating agreements with third party payors and distributors.
  • Assists Customer Service Department in obtaining out-of-network coverage through single case negotiations when Tandem is out-of-network with payor.
  • Maintains and reports on territory issues and contract status via the CRM system.
  • Participates in managed care external marketing and sales events, e.g., conferences, expositions, etc., as required by management.
  • Travels to accounts for face-to-face presentations and meetings as necessary to promote corporate business and maintain relationships.
  • Keeps records updated in the customer relationship management software (CRM), for all business dealings within assigned territory.
  • Maintains all assigned company property, equipment, records, selling aids and samples in a manner consistent with company policies.
  • Establishes and maintains a territory call cycle that will minimize administrative time and maximize time and effort spent - with customers.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports as requested by Sales Management within required deadlines.
  • Maintains expenses within established corporate guidelines and submits expense reports on a timely basis; exhibits personal integrity in dealing with all allowable business expenditures.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to manage all aspects of the sales process /activities.

    • Able to objectively evaluate situations and make recommendations for changes in light of overall project demands.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet with CRM software familiarity.
    • Able to travel in the region and work from a home office; must maintain valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and required auto insurance as well as good driving record, per company policy.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor degree in a life science, business or marketing or combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
  • 5 years successful Medical and Pharmacy related industry experience.
  • Pharmacy sales experience, preferably within the diabetes or the chronic care disease category.
  • Ongoing relationships with key regional managed care accounts a must.

Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate\xe2\x80\x99s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package. Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
