Maintenance Person - Hillcrest Apartments in Alton ILJOB

DESCRIPTION: This position is a pivotal one at our properties. The Maintenance Team helps to achieve high levels of tenant satisfaction by performing maintenance duties to ensure that all the mechanical functions and physical condition of the property, apartments and public spaces are working properly and safely as intended. This position will also perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations of all buildings, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete all general maintenance requests, ensuring timely completion, thoroughness, standard of quality and cost effectiveness Visually inspect and operate, maintain and repair all building equipment including electrical, fire, pool, computers, HVAC, plumbing, roofing and structural venues Ensure that scheduled maintenance is completed according to schedules set by the Property Manager Provide quick and professional response and service to all tenant calls, particularly when the tenant is present Maintain security of all tools and other assigned and department property Work various shifts and overtime as needed, minimum of working on call one weekend per month Visually inspect, monitor, maintain and test all electronic systems plus emergency and life safety systems Assist with general cleaning duties including but not limited to; apartment turnovers, all exterior public areas, all interior public areas, laundry rooms, club house and general use facilities.

Other Supportive Functions: Make emergency repairs to plumbing and other building equipment. Due to the nature of the business, the candidate may be requested to do other property related functions as assigned by the Property Manager

Desired Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of OSHA standards and application, Knowledge of local fire codes and interior fire alarms, Knowledge of plumbing, electricity, networks, phone systems and ability to service such areas, Skilled in the use of hand tools, Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges and high noise, Ability to perform duties within confined spaces, Knowledge of building mechanical systems, Ability to access, input and obtain information using a computer system, Basic English language communication and mathematical skills in order to comprehend job assignments, Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 80lbs, Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift and remain calm during emergencies, Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling, Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100lbsAbility to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights and at times overhead, while standing on ladder or stairs

Pay based on experience.
