Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and improvement of our portfolio of duplexes and single-family rental homes. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and attractive living spaces for residents. You'll be responsible for performing routine maintenance, responding to repair requests, and assisting with property upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance and repairs across multiple residential properties Troubleshoot and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs Prepare units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, and minor renovations Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies Ensure properties meet safety and code compliance standards Communicate effectively with property management and tenants Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, lawn care, and gutter cleaning

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required Technical training or extensive hands-on experience required Minimum 2 years' experience in rental maintenance or a similar field preferred Above average knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems, with specialized expertise in at least one area Ability to stoop or kneel to access work areas Ability to work while standing for extended periods Must be able to recognize and correct conditions requiring maintenance Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; professional and cordial with co-workers and residents Ability to work efficiently both independently and in team settings Strong time management and prioritization skills Must be available to respond to 24-hour maintenance emergencies on occasion Valid driver's license and auto insurance required when using personal vehicle Previous experience in property management or related fields Familiarity with real estate contracts and leases Ability to build rapport with tenants Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
