Job Title: Maintenance Tech Location: Mankato, MN Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: M-F About the Role Maintenance Technician is a hybrid position responsible for maintaining, repairing, and enhancing production equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The Maintenance Technician collaborates closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement in all maintenance processes. This role also provides significant support to the Fabrication area and assists other departments as needed based on workload demands. Responsibilities Support all operations as needed for production demand. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment. Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs or improvements. Assist with the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment and systems. Assist with fabrication needs of various 5S projects. Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and operating procedures. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs in the maintenance management system. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support process and equipment improvements. Follow established lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and machine guarding procedures. Support facility maintenance tasks, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and structural repairs as needed. Assist in inventory control of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to reliability, safety, and efficiency. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or production support requests to minimize downtime. Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with all company safety standards. Execute additional tasks as needed Experience High school diploma or GED Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience in manufacturing, automation, or production equipment maintenance. Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and facility systems maintenance. Familiarity with Lean practices. Forklift and aerial lift certification. Experience with elevator or lift equipment maintenance Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred. 3+ years of experience in industrial, mechanical, or electrical maintenance. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and automation equipment. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems, sensors, motors, and drives (experience in troubleshooting preferred). Working knowledge of preventive maintenance (PM) programs and CMMS systems. Basic understanding of welding, fabrication, and machining techniques. Ability to fabricate based on loosely defined concepts in support of research and development. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments. Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
