Job Description

Universal Plastics is looking for a Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE. We are looking to fill this role on our 1st team. The hours of 1st team are 7am-7pm and the work schedule is a 3-3-4 schedule. You will work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 2 weeks and then the third week will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.

Key Competencies:



Basic writing skills in order to complete necessary forms. Must possess a strong teamwork attitude Ability to navigate basic computer screens following instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with relevant personnel to address machinery/mold issues Good problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written and verbal direction Ability to comprehend and follow safety, quality and productivity rules. Ability to apply knowledge quickly and effectively Pays attention and focuses on internal customer (Operators, Lead Operators, Process Specialists, etc) satisfaction. Establishes and maintains positive internal customer relationships Must have a continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications:



High school diploma or GED. Some level of specialized technical/vocational training strongly preferred A technical degree with 0 to some experience or no degree with 1-3 years relevant experience. Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is a must

Specialized Skills/Knowledge



Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic diagrams Understanding of the difference between input and output in PLC programs Understanding of the difference between NPN and PNP read switches Ability to Ohm, check voltage and current on 12, 24, 110, 240 and 480 systems. Ability to wire 110, 240 and 480 systems. Ability to start up, operate and shutdown equipment to perform troubleshooting and to ensure repair's have been completed properly.
