Job Summary




Performs skilled craft construction, operation, maintenance, and repair, work in facility disciplines such as painting, HVAC, boiler plant, mechanical equipment, grounds keeping, plumbing, and carpentry. May perform work in more than one craft discipline as personal skill permits, and workload requires.

Essential Functions



Performs skilled and semi skilled maintenance activities including performing basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry work, and general grounds keeping duties. Installs and maintains all mechanical equipment as necessary, troubleshoots and repairs heating, cooling and room pressurization problems, monitors systems including building environmental control, energy management, security, and fire protection/detection system Should be familiar with all SDS related to the facility. Inspects services and maintains operational functionality of doors, windows, locks, and fire alarm-triggered devices. Responds to service calls or work requests from all Tribal locations relating to the repair and maintenance of plumbing fixtures, air handling, and lighting systems corrects problems or refers to another department. Orders supplies and materials related to projects and coordinate with other maintenance workers. Paints walls, doors, door casings, trims, ceilings, stairs, floors, equipment and other projects. Assist with set-up and cleanup of Tribal events Ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinance

Equipment and Tools


List the Equipment used for the job: Snow blower, shovel, Computer, assorted power tools, saws, drill, sander, grinders, etc.


List Tools: SDS, Assorted hand tools and wrenches for mechanical and plumbing repair. Assorted carpentry hand tools that prepares walls and surfaces for painting , patches, sanding and priming of walls and surfaces. Mixes and applies paint, lacquer, primer, sealer, stain, epoxy, and acrylic to necessary shade

Qualifications




Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience

4 years of previous experience in building maintenance

Preferred

Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities Completion of a formal apprenticeship Certification in Building System Maintenance or HVAC, Safety, or OSHA compliant training

License/Certification

Valid driver's license and remain insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy, or obtain

within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable)


Special Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers, and others Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines Basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry work, and general grounds keeping Excellent communication, both verbal and written, for documenting written reports Troubleshooting basic maintenance problems and determining solutions Maintaining accurate logs and basic written records of work performed Skill in operating motorized vehicles, equipment, and hand tools Skill in reading and evaluating blueprints and other technical schematics Skill in using analytical and research ability to define and solve problems Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others Knowledge of how to read and interpret an MSDS document Knowledge of operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining building and grounds equipment Knowledge of basic shop arithmetic Knowledge of transporting and disposing of items of varying compounds, textures, or quantities Knowledge of safety procedures for repair and maintenance Knowledge of safety precautions when operating motorized vehicles, equipment, and hand tools
