Do you enjoy fixing things, working with your hands, and seeing the immediate results of a job well done? Are you comfortable moving from a clogged drain to a loose handrail to a lawn mower that "was working yesterday"? If you're someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly--and enjoys helping people along the way--this role might be for you.
We're looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to support the care and upkeep of our beautiful 22-acre campus, which includes senior housing, family apartments, and shared community spaces. This is a hands-on role for someone with a wide-ranging skill set and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
What You'll Be Doing (AKA "A Typical Day"):
Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues
Performing carpentry, appliance repairs, and routine maintenance tasks
Helping maintain buildings, grounds, and outdoor spaces year-round
Responding to unexpected issues with flexibility and problem-solving skills
Supporting campus safety and working closely with the Maintenance Manager
Interacting daily with residents, families, and children in a respectful, friendly manner
What You Bring to the Toolbox:
At least two years of hands-on experience in residential property maintenance
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, appliance repair, and groundskeeping
A personal set of hand tools appropriate for general maintenance work
A valid driver's license and auto insurance in good standing (this is a big campus)
A strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork
A friendly, approachable demeanor and comfort interacting with both senior residents and client families, including children
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, follows a regular work schedule (to be determined), and includes on-call responsibilities.
Extensive Background Check
The selected candidate must successfully complete an extensive background check, including employment verification, criminal history checks, fingerprinting, and all Department of Child Services (DCS)-required training. This process is thorough and held to the highest standard.
