Overview

Rowley Company is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician at Rowley, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and upkeep of our facilities, machinery, and equipment. Your role will be vital in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality products to our customers by maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and building systems to minimize downtime and extend their lifespan.

Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns and malfunctions, diagnosing problems and performing repairs or arranging for specialist contractors as needed.

Facility Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of company property, including production areas, offices, restrooms, and exterior grounds.

Equipment Installation: Assist with the setup and installation of new machinery, equipment, and systems, ensuring correct operation and compliance with safety standards.

Troubleshooting: Identify issues in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, using diagnostic tools and technical expertise to resolve problems efficiently.

Record Keeping: Document all maintenance activities, repairs completed, and parts used, maintaining accurate logs in accordance with company policies.

Sourcing Parts and Materials: Work with the purchasing department to acquire necessary spare parts, tools, and materials for maintenance and repairs.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations; participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of protocols and procedures.

Emergency Response: Serve as a first responder to urgent maintenance issues, adopting safe and effective solutions to restore normal operations.

Collaboration: Work in partnership with warehouse staff, managers, engineers, and production staff to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Training: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay updated on new technologies, equipment, and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environment is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Physical Stamina: Capability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various environments, including confined spaces and at heights.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and within required timelines.

Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and external vendors.

Computer Literacy: Familiarity with maintenance management software, inventory tracking, and basic office applications.

Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly desirable, enabling effective communication across diverse teams and with external partners.

Certification: Relevant certifications such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing licenses are considered an asset.

Essential Functions

Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.

Test equipment and systems regularly to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Respond to maintenance requests from all departments, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.

Ensure all tools and supplies are securely stored and properly maintained.

Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as required.

Support sustainability initiatives by recommending and implementing energy-saving measures.

Work Environment

The Maintenance Technician will work primarily within Rowley Company's production facilities but may also be called upon to service administrative offices and outdoor areas. The position requires the ability to work in noisy, fast-paced, and sometimes hazardous environments. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.

Use of hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and heavy machinery.

Occasional exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and heights.

Schedule

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; may require shift work, overtime, or weekend coverage based on operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
