The maintenance worker is responsible for maintaining the machinery, equipment, trailers and trucks to ensure they can be operated in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, and perform routine upkeep on brakes, suspensions, drive trains, electrical components, and engines as needed.
Repair, and maintain equipment related to operations such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, skid steers, tractors, compactors, balers, etc.
Follow scheduled maintenance inspections and preventative maintenance plans.
May order and/or pick up parts used to repair vehicles and other equipment.
Comply with OSHA and MARCK Recycling & Waste safety and health rules.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the elements, fumes, varying degrees of hot or cold temperatures, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift items over 50 pounds and
move items up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of general maintenance technician experience.
One to two years of previous vehicle maintenance experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Technical training.
Some experience with acetylene and electric arc welding.
