What are we looking for in a Maintenance Supervisor?
Coordinates, assigns and maintains staff work schedules and assignments. Prioritizes maintenance requests and assigns jobs appropriately based on nature of problem and skills of staff. Maintains logs and records of completed projects, repairs and maintenance schedules. Establishes and maintains supplies and equipment inventories and preventative maintenance systems. Ensures total environmental integrity, to include safety and compliance to all codes and regulations in agency owned and/or operated facilities. Develops cost estimates for and/or completes remodeling and renovation projects.
General Purpose:
Provides supervision, direction and support to assigned staff. Responsible for facilities maintenance, to include maintenance, cleaning, furniture, and materials purchasing, property acquisitions and safety.
Job Duties:
Oversee daily work of custodial and maintenance staff, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
Train new employees on cleaning protocols, equipment use, safety procedures, and facility standards.
Ensure all building areas (offices, restrooms, hallways, classrooms, common areas) are cleaned according to established standards.
Inspect facilities regularly to verify cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of building systems.
Coordinate and supervise routine maintenance (e.g., HVAC filters, lighting, plumbing fixes, minor repairs).
Submit or manage work orders for larger maintenance needs requiring specialized technicians.
Enforce OSHA, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of chemicals.
Conduct periodic safety trainings and emergency procedure drills.
Prepare schedules, work logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
Assist in budget planning related to custodial supplies, equipment replacement, and maintenance needs.
Serve as the point of contact for facility users regarding custodial or maintenance issues.
Communicate effectively with staff, management, and other departments to resolve concerns quickly.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM
Pay:
$31.40 to $47.10 Per Hour
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/ GED Equivalence
2 years of Supervisory experience
2 years of Maintenance experience
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
