About the Role

As a

Professional Maintenance Lead

, you will guide and support skilled trades employees in a unionized manufacturing operation. Your mission is to elevate equipment reliability, throughput, safety, and overall performance while coaching teams in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.

You'll work cross-functionally, solve complex equipment challenges, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including kaizen events focused on boosting OEE and reducing waste.

What You'll Do

Lead and mentor skilled trades team members (hourly and supervisory) in WCM tools including AM, PM, QM, Focus Improvement, and People Development. Drive improvements in KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and equipment basic condition standards. Oversee professional and breakdown maintenance activities to maximize production throughput. Partner with Professional Maintenance Specialists to address downtime, run-to-run variation, and equipment reliability issues. Manage and prioritize maintenance projects in a high-volume, unionized environment. Champion safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale objectives across your assigned area. Lead kaizen events and cost-deployment initiatives targeting OEE improvement and waste reduction.

What You Bring

Required:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years of industrial automation experience

, weekends, and overtime Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Experience coaching or mentoring skilled trades employees Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to build strong working relationships with both leadership and hourly employees Willingness and ability to meet physical and environmental requirements: Standing/walking long periods Lifting up to 40 lbs Bending/stooping/climbing/crawling Working in tight spaces and hot/cold environments Working around heavy machinery Wearing all required PPE

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma training Hands-on experience with controls, robotics, drives, sensors, weld systems, vision systems, conveyance, sealing, glass cell systems, paint processes, and related technologies Familiarity with WCM pillar methodologies Working knowledge of Google Suite
Job Type: Contract

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour
