Job Overview

Packet Digital is seeking a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to support its lithium-ion pouch-cell manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities for both production equipment and facility infrastructure, including automated manufacturing tools, HVAC systems, air-handling units (AHU), dehumidification units (DHU), and other critical utilities. The Maintenance Supervisor will play a key role in equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance programs to ensure continuous, reliable manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Supervise maintenance activities for automated production equipment used in lithium-ion cell manufacturing, including mixing, coating, calendaring, slitting, stacking, welding, filling, formation, and testing systems. Oversee maintenance and operation of facility systems such as HVAC, AHU/MAU, DHU/dry-room environmental control, compressed air, vacuum systems, nitrogen supply, chilled water, boilers, and waste-gas treatment systems. Support installation, start-up, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and associated MEP utilities; assist vendors during setup and acceptance testing. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for both process equipment and facility infrastructure. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation. Maintain documentation including maintenance logs, spare-part inventory, equipment manuals, and compliance checklists. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and manufacturability. Ensure facility systems maintain required environmental conditions-especially humidity, temperature, and dew point-for dry-room and clean-production areas. Train maintenance technicians in proper troubleshooting, safety procedures, and equipment operations. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

Required:

Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; or equivalent technical experience. 5+ years of experience in automated manufacturing, industrial equipment maintenance, or facility-systems maintenance. Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, AHU/MAU, DHU/dry-room controls, and general MEP utilities. Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment (PLC-based systems, sensors, motors, drives, pneumatics). Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure to resolve downtime events. Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, CMMS tools, and spare-parts management. Excellent communication and team-leadership skills.

Preferred:

Experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing or similar high-tech process industries (semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceutical, etc.). Experience with dry-room operation and ultra-low humidity systems. Familiarity with equipment SAT, commissioning protocols, and utility load planning. Working knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA, and automation controls. OSHA training or maintenance-related safety certifications.
