Maintenance Superintendent

for

Maintenance Superintendent Primary Responsibilities

Ensure a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment to foster a safety-first priority. Complete safety audits. Enforce and comply with all OSHA standards and company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Arc Flash, Elevated Working Surfaces, Hazard Communication (SDS), Hot Work, and Process Safety Management. Investigate all work-related injuries and illnesses. Schedules, coordinates and supervises all maintenance personnel and activities to achieve or exceed determined standards to produce a quality product in a safe manner and within customer specifications. Assigns and maintains workflow, checks progress and quality of work, assists employees in the course of their daily work activities and ensures compliance with production schedules. Maintains all equipment requiring routine, emergency or preventative maintenance. Participate in weekly meetings with department managers to approve or reject work order requests and discuss tentative projects and upcoming maintenance activities for the following week. Investigate and eliminate production variability resulting in downtime and/or below standard measurements and determine remedial action. Develops and oversees preventative maintenance plans and repair schedules. Reviews proper creation, planning, assignment, and closure of work orders, and employee trends on completion. Coordinates activities with any related departments; determines that proper quality control procedures are being followed. Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and maintaining safe work practices and conditions. Maintains safe work conditions and practices through utilization of good housekeeping, employee training, and OSHA safety compliance. Maintains and documents, the discipline and attendance of maintenance employees. Utilizes ADP for weekly attendance and payroll purposes. Compiles information and prepares various reports and records. Works closely with all department heads as to the needs, schedules and repairs to equipment in their departments. Recommends purchase of necessary supplies, equipment, materials, etc. Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions. Conducts interviews with new employees in the department. Responsible for the proper and efficient utilization of manpower and machinery, including adequate training of new personnel. Answers and converses with others via email. Must perform all job duties safely and in accordance with Plant rules and regulations. Travel occasionally to other Atlas facilities, training, and to visit vendors. Collaborate with the Electrical Controls Manager on electrical safety compliance, controls & electrical system troubleshooting and PM development. Collaborate with the Reliability Engineer on achieving all plant reliability goals.

Maintenance Superintendent Experience

Minimum three (3) years working with the eMaint CMMS program in a Production/Manufacturing Environment

Maintenance Superintendent Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Communication - Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing. Organization - Must have sound organizational skills. Supervision - Must be able to lead and coach people on the above subjects Follow Through - Fulfills the requirements of the position as described. Follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction in a timely manner. Problem Solving - Ability to think through issues and develop solutions in a timely manner. Language - Must be able to speak fluent English. Mathematical abilities - Basic math skills required. Proficient with computers and programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, email, misc. Must possess an exemplary attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Coach and assist other Maintenance Coordinators/Planners across the SUL Division

Still Yard Manager Education, Licenses & Certifications

High School Diploma required.
