This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building systems and training team members. Starting in January, the position includes early involvement in the installation and commissioning of process equipment, as well as the development of our maintenance program from the ground up. You will be responsible for establishing maintenance systems, contractor and vendor relationships and oversight, and operational processes where none currently exist. The ideal candidate thrives in environments that demand adaptability, initiative, and strong problem-solving skills.
As Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the upkeep of all facility infrastructure and production equipment, manage a team of maintenance technicians, and provide on-call support across shifts as needed. This position will start as a working manager role, balancing leadership duties with hands on maintenance and troubleshooting until the full team and systems are established. We're looking for a dependable, motivated individual who's ready to lead by example and contribute wherever needed as we build this company together.

Responsibilities:
Help implement and maintain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, PM tasks and spare parts inventory
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Lead multiple maintenance technicians and contractors
Provide training and performance feedback to direct reports
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment including kettles, conveyors, packaging lines, HVAC systems, etc.
Monitor equipment performance and downtime trends
Maintain spare parts inventory and procurement
Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, and food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF)
Collaborate with production and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures
Manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements
Prepare maintenance budgets, track expenses, and report KPIs to leadership
Ensure all tasks are performed safely according to safety protocols
Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors for warranty work, spare parts and emergency services
Must be capable of providing clear technical guidance to non-technical leadership, collaborating with operators to troubleshoot issues, and contributing to a culture of safety accountability, and continues improvement
Perform other duties as necessary or requested
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of maintenance leadership in industry (manufacturing preferred)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Proficiency in computers/ERP systems for maintenance tracking and inventory control
Excellent problem-solving, team management, and communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance needs
Ability to perform physical tasks in all weather conditions including lifting, climbing, working at heights and using heavy equipment.
