Job Summary

Responsible for directing maintenance in the following areas: ammonia refrigeration, wastewater, HVAC, electrical distribution, hydraulics, high and low pressure air and high and low pressure water. Responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. In addition, this position is responsible for managing multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics.

Job Functions

Essential Functions:

  • Drive the Maintenance and Reliability initiative focused on Preventive & Predictive
maintenance.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance completed, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
  • Plan and execute the department budget. Analyze variances and initiate corrective action.
  • Supervise, motivate, train, and discipline employees according to Company and plant policies.
  • Ensure assuring compliance of all policies and procedures including Good Manufacturing Practices, visitors, temporary employees and contractors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output.
  • Adhere to safety program and participate in behavioral observation program.
  • Promote a learning culture within Maintenance department
  • Work closely with other Department leaders to ensure alignment with plant and company goals
  • Supervise several direct employees each of which may have a team of 6 to 20.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree OR 4 years related work experience
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience supervising maintenance team.
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with refrigeration systems, boilers, compressed air, hydraulics, WWTP operations and PSM.
  • CIRO/CARO certification within 2 years
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing food process equipment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing food packaging equipment (preferred)
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to multitask with multiple priorities
  • Mechanical aptitude \xe2\x80\x93 understand gear ratios, hydraulics, and or complex machine interactions.
  • Ability to demonstrate and share knowledge of refrigeration systems, Hazmat, mechanical systems, electrical, safety and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office suite.
