to support electrical maintenance and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and components.
Diagnose faults in motors, relays, sensors, VFDs, and control systems using schematics and diagnostic tools.
Maintain and repair electro-mechanical systems, including AC/DC motors and drives (up to 480V).
Program and troubleshoot PLCs and ladder logic-based controls.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals.
Inspect and document the condition of switchgear, transfer switches, transformers, and control panels.
Ensure compliance with NEC, arc flash standards, and internal safety policies.
Assist with process improvements, automation upgrades, and small capital projects.
Source, specify, and coordinate parts and materials for maintenance work.
Support and train other technicians, serving as a technical resource for the maintenance team.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, or 10+ years of progressive hands-on electrical experience without a degree.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation systems.
Proficient with electrical schematics, AC/DC circuits, and VFDs (480V and below).
Comfortable using CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation accurately.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and provide on-call support as needed.
Solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plant equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in chemical processing or related industrial settings.
Familiarity with valve systems and repair.
Project coordination or small project management experience.
Certified or trained in operating forklifts, man-lifts, or other industrial vehicles.
