This position leads the group in oversight of all site equipment and fleet maintenance. Candidates collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance and repair of facilities equipment to limit downtime. They need a collaborative attitude, good communication and critical thinking skills, and a knack for creative problem solving. The Maintenance Technician is a supervisory role, coordinates activities with other departments or groups to ensure the station equipment is operating at peak efficiency. This role will be on-site at our Corteva location. What You Will Do:
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all farm (16 \xe2\x80\x9ctractors\xe2\x80\x9d, 12 irrigators, 3 UTV, 2 PIT, ~ 18 implements) plant equipment (Conveyors, Motors, Husking Beds, Shellers and associated equipment) and fleet vehicles (9 trucks and vans) at Waialua Parent Seed.
  • Establish positive working relationships with local and mainland vendors for all supplies and parts needed to maintain the farm equipment and fleet vehicles.
  • Develop and implement an inventory system for parts and equipment maintenance supply.
  • Maintain an inventory of frequently used parts and maintenance items such as oil filters, bearings, disc blades, planter parts, etc while staying within budget and order timeliness.
  • Oversee the daily preventative maintenance of all farm equipment and fleet vehicles by training all farm equipment operators on key maintenance programs.
  • Repair farm equipment as needed either in-house or outsourced as needed.
  • Identify local and remote vendors of equipment maintenance, supplies and parts needed to maintain farm equipment.
  • Design and implement an electronic process for maintenance schedule and recordkeeping.
  • Supervise others in the performance of maintenance tasks.
  • Implement and practice safety programs and policies as needed for all farm equipment, maintenance activities and by Corteva and OSHA safety practices.
  • You will manage the farm equipment repair and maintenance budget.
  • Coordinate and perform repairs on all small engine equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs on forklifts.
  • Champion Safety Standards related to Maintenance at the site.
  • Managing Spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinating or performing repairs on Plant Processing equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate workload with external and internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process lines to ensure business continuity.
  • Interface with external contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and mentor reports, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with specified research protocols and regulations.
  • Coordinate with other groups to ensure key steps are completed in a collaborative manner.
  • Communicate openly with team, supervisors, and other stakeholders on matters of relevance.
  • Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations.
  • Organize daily activities, including labor.
  • Design and implement process improvements.
  • Support all Waialua Parent Seed goals and support other projects when needed.
  • Ensure operation of company equipment including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control devices, and HVAC, for process and facility.
  • Coordinate electrical repairs and scheduled inspections of equipment, following the prescribed guidelines and procedures.
  • Review and lead electrical safety program for the plant maintenance team.
  • Service, troubleshoot and repair any problem of any electrical/mechanical nature.
  • Adherence to all quality systems & safety procedures including Environmental regulations, OSHA, and PSM procedures in everyday work routine.
  • Make recommendations for improved safety through electrical programs and/or process changes including addition of new devices, and hardware.

Qualifications


Who You Are:
  • You enjoy working on machines and electrical components!
  • When there is a problem, you see an exciting opportunity to troubleshoot so you can find and implement solutions!
  • You have EITHER a High School diploma/GED equivalent with 10+ years of Industrial Equipment Maintenance experience OR an Associate\'s.
  • Degree or two-year Trade School Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Mechanical field.
  • Heights above 25 feet? No problem! You are willing and able to work on elevated surfaces (with fall protection equipment, of course, because safety is always number one to you!).
  • You know how to schedule work/jobs and you do a great job of following-up on completion status.
  • You are a guru at understanding and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and light fabrication work.
  • You value serving your customers and know operations must be supported for optimal uptime, so you are willing and able to work hours required of this role to achieve that mission (this job is typically a day job but requires overtime hours including weekend work during our seasonal peaks).
  • Ability to work outside in a tropical agriculture setting with year-round demand on fleet vehicles and farm equipment.
  • You have excellent Computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • You enjoy working as part of a larger, culturally diverse group, as well as independently when needed.
  • You have a valid Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of large equipment.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASE Certified Technician.
  • Experience fabrication and welding; certifications desired.
  • Experience planning and scheduling.
  • Experience working with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Experience with maintenance scheduling.
