POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible to coordinate, lead, and direct contractors working at the site under the direction of the maintenance department. This position is also responsible to manage, maintain, and optimize the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations area (MRO) of the site while ensuring it has the appropriate inventory of maintenance related parts, supplies, services, and materials to address all maintenance and operations requests efficiently and quickly while maintaining the highest level of quality and cost effectiveness.

In addition, the position will coordinate the scheduling and execution of the maintenance department work orders by utilizing the FiiX Work Request Portal by consulting with production, engineering, maintenance, and other departments to determine requirements as necessary. Expedites and ensures proper execution of purchase orders as necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans, schedules and supervises activities of outside contractors for work performed at the site; ensures that each contractor has completed safety training programs, has supplied acceptable liability insurance information, and is clear on the scope of work.
  • Works with the maintenance techs and assists Supervisor with coordinating job assignments with members of the maintenance team; ensures assignments are understood by maintenance techs and that work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed.
  • Audits, orders and ensures proper inventory levels of parts, supplies and materials necessary for proper maintenance functions of the site. Determines proper lead times and availability of parts to ensure proper stocking levels at all times.
  • Ensures careful attention paid to selecting equipment, parts, and contractors that are cost-effective solutions; where possible, multiple bids shall be solicited by vendors for work performed and equipment/parts supplied
  • Utilize the CMMS system to its full capacity/potential; schedule/plan work orders, both emergency and PM\'s, through the CMMS system. Prepares job specific parts and tools for timely execution of predicted and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Assists with coordinating training sessions with maintenance staff, covering areas such as safe tool operation, proper lifting, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, etc., in accordance with required training frequency as specified in the site standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Ensures best practices are considered during all projects and activities; Coordinates best practice sharing with the entire maintenance staff; Utilizes other plants to obtain best practices
  • Assists Engineering and Capital Groups with scope definition of improvement and reliability projects at the Veronal Site
  • This position will be expected to drive continuous improvement efforts in the parts room, purchasing, and Maintenance workflow platforms.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards. Works to advance and promote the safety culture of the site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Advanced education beyond the high school level in vocational training involving such skills as electricity, welding, mechanic, carpentry and pipe-fitting
  • Two years of prior maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize incoming tasks for maintenance department.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Effective analysis/problem solving/decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with MRP/ERP systems.
