Job Summary

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the maintenance and ensuring that all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, project management capabilities, and a solid understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, and maintenance practices. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach to problem-solving and be proficient in using tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to diagnose issues.

Duties

Assist and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventive measures. Assist in maintenance projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve technical problems effectively. Train and mentor maintenance staff in best practices, safety protocols, and equipment handling. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and inventory management. Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance work without disrupting operations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including the use of voltmeters and ohmmeters for diagnostics. Familiarity with HVAC systems and logic controllers is preferred. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively. Strong project management skills with an emphasis on organization and time management. Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret schematics related to electrical systems. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
