Overview

Marion Superior Court is accepting resumes for a full-time Magistrate. This position will work in the Court's Criminal divisions. Magistrates are paid through the State. Benefits, including retirement accounts, are also through the State. Ideal candidates shall have a minimum of five years experience. This position will be a night shift position, with weekend and holiday hours. The start date for this position will be January 2026.

Position Responsibilities

May include any of the following:



Conduct initial hearings; Review and rule on motions; Review and rule on search warrants; Preside over Probation and Community Correction violation hearings; Preside over hearings (including remote hearings) and bench trials; Preside over jury trials; Other duties as assigned by the supervising Judge.

Qualifications

------------------


Applicants must be admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana with five years of practice and be in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court.
