The Madison County Detention Center is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and inmates. This role is crucial in ensuring the effective management of the facility while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to public safety and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Duties
Monitor inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to maintain security and safety standards.
Assist in the intake and release process of inmates, ensuring proper documentation is completed.
Respond to emergencies and incidents, utilizing de-escalation techniques as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of inmate behavior, incidents, and daily activities.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to detention center operations.
Skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with inmates, staff, and external agencies.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations with professionalism.
Excellent observational skills to identify potential security risks or behavioral issues among inmates.
Basic knowledge of legal regulations pertaining to detention facilities is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in conflict resolution techniques to manage disputes effectively.
A commitment to ethical practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Are you comfortable with being OC Sprayed, pepper sprayed, it is a requirement to work in this corrections facility?
