Get your start as a Machinist in this great job! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a local manufacturing company in Jackson, MN. We\'re seeking candidates for Machinist roles on 1st and 2nd shift. Compensation for these entry-level, temp-to-hire opportunities is $18.00 per hour.

This Company is a family-owned, ISO certified manufacturer of consumer and industrial products located in Southwest Minnesota. They were organized in 1990 to build trailer hitches for motorcycles and has continued to innovate year after year. Now with 150 employees, 2 facilities, and processing multiple truckloads of material per day.

What a Machinist will do:

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes and jig borers.
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
• Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
• Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
• Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.

What you need to be a Machinist:

• Ability to read and interpret written information.
• Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and standard measuring devices.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends when requested.
