Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinery Mover (Rigger) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of heavy equipment and materials at construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of rigging techniques, heavy equipment operation, and safety protocols. The Rigger will work closely with other team members to ensure that all lifting and rigging operations are conducted safely and effectively.

Duties

Set up and operate rigging equipment to lift, move, and position heavy loads. Inspect rigging equipment for safety compliance before use. Collaborate with operators and other personnel to coordinate lifting operations. Aligns levels and anchors machinery. Attaches loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving by using hand and power tools. Works closely with the Foreman and crews to learn the process of moving machinery and items of size and weight. Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps. Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment. Manipulates rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment. Obtains knowledge of equipment uses and follows procedures (IE procedure for equipment placement on trailers for loading and off-loading; equipment tie-down procedures. Learns and understand tools required for the job and the purpose of the tools. Reads and creates drawings and lifting plans. Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Proven experience in heavy equipment operation. CDL preferred. Familiarity with loader operation, commercial driving, and various types of heavy machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on rigging equipment. Previous experience working as a rigger or in a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while following all safety protocols.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
