The Machinery & Equipment Specialties department is currently seeking a Field Engineer to provide Machinery & Equipment boiler inspection in our Omaha, Nebraska territory. This position can be filled by a Trainee or Experienced Field Engineer.

Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio may be fully remote.

The pay range for this position is $63,000 - $105,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant\xe2\x80\x99s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to\\:

  • maintain territory\'s jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections
  • efficiently and effectively manage the territory for which you are responsible for
  • educate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clients
  • serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing efforts
  • provide high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agents
Qualification:

Field Engineer Trainee Program\\:
  • possess an engineering/technically based Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or other qualifying boiler & pressure vessel work experience.
  • the ability to work independently to accomplish initiatives
  • strong customer service skills and abilities
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational and prioritization skills
  • strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and related software
  • willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demands
  • valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license

Experienced Field Engineer\\:
  • machinery and equipment experience within a property & casualty insurance company preferred
  • strong knowledge of machinery and equipment, equipment breakdown coverages, corresponding business lines, regulations and consensus standards preferred
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree applicable to the position responsibilities or related experience and training
  • possess a National Board commission or have the necessary qualifications to promptly acquire it
  • strong consultative, organizational, and presentation skills
  • demonstrated pursuit of continuing education

  • current commission from the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors or eligible for reinstatement or;
  • candidates with prior boiler and machinery experience and/or a degree in a related engineering field will be considered
