Midwest Hardwood is actively hiring a Machine Operator/Utility to join our growing fast-paced lumber industry. If you enjoy working in manufacturing and making quick decisions while working under pressure, then this is the job for you!

Who are we?

Midwest Hardwood Company is a hardwood manufacturing company and industrial building product distributor that serves domestic and international customers since 1981. We have three sawmills and two dry-kiln facilities located in Wisconsin. These cities are Reedsburg, Park Falls, Mellen and Fountain City.

Activities of the position

Ensure all personnel are clear before start-up & shut-down of equipment

Operate pedals and buttons to regulate lumber onto infeed belt

Monitor and adjust flow of lumber going to Graders

Be at work on time and ready at the scheduled start time

Crosstrain in other positions and fill in those roles as needed

Maintain good housekeeping practices, picking/sweeping up debris, broken boards, etc.

Other duties as assigned

Essential functions

Effective communication skills

Attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Requirements:

Lift up to 50 pounds- hardwood lumber boards as required

Stand 100% of the time with the exception of breaks

Work in building without heating or A/C. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, heat in summer and winter cold.

Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday. First shift hours. 40 hours.

Experience:

Manufacturing: 1 yr (Preferred)

Machine Operator: 1 yr (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
