Title - M365 Cloud Security Specialist

Client - IRS

Location - Washington, DC



We are hiring a senior M365 Cloud Security and Governance Specialist to

establish, monitor, and enforce the security posture of the IRS M365 environment. This role is

highly strategic, requiring expertise in advanced threat protection, data lifecycle governance,

and compliance frameworks to mitigate risk across all cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Architecture & Risk Management: Provide expert security and cyber architect

support, including developing risk assessments and security models for new M365

feature deployments.

Advanced Security Tools: Drive the implementation and optimization of Microsoft

product enhancements, including Defender, Copilots, Loop, Purview, and Graph

Connector.

Governance & Auditing: Document and manage Security Change Requests and

enhance audit logging solutions. Assist with applying data connectors and establishing

enterprise-wide security policies.

Specialized Security Integration: Manage the security configurations for AvePoint

Online Services (AOS), focusing on secure interfaces (e.g., tenant-to-tenant, Splunk

Enterprise, bring your own keys, IP restrictions, and SFTP).

Required Qualifications

Minimum 7 years' experience in cloud security and compliance, with at least 5 years

specifically supporting the Microsoft 365 (M365) Cloud Based Suite in a large corporate

or government environment.

Must possess advanced expertise in developing data readiness plans and

operationalizing Purview for information protection.

Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in creating PowerShell scripts for security

automation and compliance checks.

Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues related to the entire

M365 cloud platform and AvePoint Online Services.

400)
