SUMMARY:




Lunchroom Monitor that is dedicated and responsible with a focus on ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive environment for students during mealtimes. Experience in supervising large groups of children with a high degree of patience, promoting respectful behavior, assisting with routines, and responding quickly to situations to maintain student well-being. Committed to supporting a welcoming school community while fostering a safe and enjoyable mealtime experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Overseeing and directing student behavior during mealtimes Ensuring a clean and safe cafeteria environment Helping to distribute meals and monitor food safety Reporting any issues or concerns to school administration Intervening in potential conflicts or disruptions Assisting students who may need help, such as those with special dietary needs Assisting in cleaning up after mealtime Following and enforcing school policies and guidelines Communicating effectively with students, staff, and administrators Participating in meetings and professional development as required Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area before, during, and after mealtime Engaging with students and promoting a positive environment Satisfactory criminal background check

JOB SPECIFICATIONS



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:




High school graduate or GED. Must be 18 years old.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:




Must possess a valid driver's license or Work ID.


First Aid and CPR certification, preferred.

REQUIRED TESTING:




TB Test

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:




None

KNOWLEDGE:




Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and mealtime rules. Ability to speak effectively with elementary age students and/or employees in a school environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

SKILLS:




Strong communication skills with students, staff, and administration. Understanding a child's behavior and dynamics. Skilled in problem solving and patience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this position.



The employee must be able to occasionally lift or physically support students during mealtimes in compliance with safety guidelines. The employee may occasionally push/pull items such as tables and seating. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and may occasionally work outdoors for special events. The employee will work near moving mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally work near or with toxic or caustic chemicals such as petroleum products, degreasers, and sprays. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Frequent interruptions and immediate attention to unexpected situations are expected.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:




180 days/3 hours per day (part-time)


Hourly Flat Rate

EVALUATION:




Performance of this job will be evaluated by the principal at the end of each year.
