JOB SUMMARY:

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of patients. Performs a variety of tasks including concepts of patient centered care and demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Works under general supervision within the scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board on Nursing.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited LVN program.


Completion of IV therapy certification course (or obtained within six months of employment)



BLS (or obtained during orientation)



De-escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty.

Current state nursing license.



Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Prefer one-year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.



Other certifications specific to unit may be required.
