Job description: This LPN Position is located at the Ronald C. Mulholland Juvenile Center in Wheeling, WV which is operated by Youth Services Systems. The LPN provides support to the physician in scheduling, assessments, obtaining orders and medication, and maintaining documentation.The LPN passes medication and maintains accurate records of all professional activities. The LPN serves as a resource for staff and residents and works a regular schedule and "on call" schedule. - Provide total health care to Clients (routine, chronic and emergent care), maintaining continuity of care from admission to discharge in a correctional facility.
- Safe medication administration.
- Provide health services in accordance with policy.
- Follows operational policies/procedures, Health Services guidelines/policies, ACA standards of care, and Board of Health professionals scope of practice
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Must possess and maintain valid unrestricted West Virginia LPN license
- Must have or be able to obtain a Pharmacology Certificate
- Must have a Valid Driver\'s License
- Working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of practical or general nursing care and of institutional operating procedures including related security procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals.
- Experience in carrying out providers orders in applying treatments.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Knowledgeable of first aid skills.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to administer practical nursing care.
