Licensed Practical Nurse

to provide professional nursing care on our day shift in the long-term care setting. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Provider, or Physician, you will be relied upon to apply the full scope of your nursing knowledge. This role requires clinical expertise, utilizing age- and population-specific standards to ensure the continuous

health, comfort, and safety

of residents across all ages according to their care plans.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care Delivery:

Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care, demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles relevant to the long-term care clinical setting.

Medication and Treatment:

Accurately administer prescribed medications and execute ordered treatments.

Assessment and Monitoring:

Contribute to the ongoing assessment of residents' conditions, perform testing to evaluate data reflective of resident status, and provide the necessary care.

Emergency Response:

Exhibit the capability to recognize problems swiftly, recommend practical solutions, and respond effectively to assist during emergent situations.

Documentation and Communication:

Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary status. Communicate effectively and maintain

strict confidentiality

of sensitive information.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Work effectively as an essential member of the interdisciplinary care team, providing technical support to other healthcare professionals as required.

Guidance and Education:

Under the direction of a supervisor, counsel residents, family members, and/or advocates regarding prevention and treatment plans, and use resident education principles to develop self-care programs.

Relationship Management:

Skillfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.

Quality Assurance:

Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure high standards of care are consistently met.
Requirements

Education:

Graduate from an

accredited practical nursing program

as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An Associate Degree in practical nursing is preferred.

License:

Must hold a current,

unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

with the State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.

Clinical Experience:

Must have either attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span OR possess a minimum of

400 hours of experience as an LPN

at another facility.

Specialized Skills (North Dakota Only):

If the position involves IV therapy/management skills, the candidate must meet the North Dakota Board of Nursing requirements (graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program with IV therapy in the curriculum or completion of a Board-approved IV Therapy course).

Competency:

Obtain and subsequently maintain all required department-specific competencies and certifications. Complete required annual

continuing education units (CEU)

and competency training requirements.

Shift Availability:

Must be available for

12-hour Day Shifts

(typically 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and be prepared for

every other weekend and every other holiday

rotation.
Preferred Qualifications

A background demonstrating proficiency in performing testing and evaluating data reflective of a resident's status.
