We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Sea Animals to lead our aquatic programs and initiatives. This leadership role involves overseeing the development, management, and execution of educational and conservation programs related to marine life. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, and a deep commitment to marine conservation and education. Responsibilities
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of sea animal programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and educational standards
Manage program budgets, resources, and staff to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations
Foster relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and educational institutions to promote collaborative initiatives
Oversee program compliance with safety regulations, animal welfare standards, and legal requirements
Develop innovative educational content and outreach strategies to engage diverse audiences including individuals with developmental disabilities
Coordinate special events, exhibits, and public demonstrations involving marine animals
Monitor program outcomes through data collection and reporting to inform continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
Proven management experience in program development or organizational leadership within a zoological, aquarist, or similar environment
Strong background in working with people with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
Demonstrated ability in relationship management with community partners, sponsors, and stakeholders
Administrative experience including budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation
Supervising experience with teams of varying sizes in a dynamic setting
Knowledge of marine biology or social work related to aquatic environments is preferred
Excellent communication skills for public speaking, staff coordination, and stakeholder engagement
Ability to develop innovative programs that promote conservation awareness and education excellence
Commitment to animal welfare standards and safety protocols in all program activities

Pay: $22.74 - $27.38 per hour
