Job Summary




We are seeking a capable, experienced, and reliable Shipping Floor Lead to join our Logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. This role requires inventory management, order fulfillment, compliance with shipping regulations, and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient shipping operations within the plant.


The Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating personnel with the supervisor and overseeing the daily operations in the truckline area to ensure all truckline shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role will also oversee all truck loading activities to maintain accuracy, safety, and timeliness while ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements. The Shipping Lead will serve as the point of contact between shipping staff, drivers, and management to ensure smooth operations. Required: Availability to come in early or stay late as needed to meet customer shipments.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:



Shipping Coordination



Prepare shipments for delivery including labeling, packaging, and documentation to customer requirements Process outgoing shipments in an accurate and timely manner Ensure all shipping documentation is completed correctly Verify and record all items loaded for shipments Inspect and verify shipments for accuracy and quality Identify and help troubleshoot shipping issues

Material HandlingInventory Management



Provide fast and accurate processing of all material according to policies and procedures Use RF scanners for various stock movements and maintain organized inventory documentation Pull and count parts from assigned locations and correctly document customer orders accurately Communicate with lead and supervisor inventory discrepancies Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move inventory within the warehouse and production areas Manually load shipments as needed, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials Perform routine inspections and maintenance of forklifts and other equipment Transport materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed Safely use moving equipment: forklifts, dollies, pallet jacks, etc.

Customer Service



Read and understand customer requirements on orders Communicate with shipping clerks regarding shipment status, delays, and any issues that may arise

Additional Responsibilities



Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities and transactions Review sales orders, pick inventory, and utilize shipping software Notify supervisor of discrepancies Participate in logistics and supply chain improvement projects Ensure all shipping activities comply with environmental and safety regulations Keep shipping area clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Competencies Required:



Experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment Basic knowledge of inventory management Basic math, language, and reading skills Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong organizational and time management skills Good communication and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret order requirements and follow established policies and procedures Ability to work independently and effectively within a team focused environment Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness Physical stamina and the

to lift and carry heavy objects Firm dedication to excellence and high standards Customer service-oriented mindset Safety conscious and self-motivated Resourcefulness and adaptability Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in on-site test Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklift, order picker and pallet jack safely and effectively, certification to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred Valid state motor vehicle operator's license preferred Proficiency with shipping software and basic computer skills Broad level of safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures Good attendance is required for this position

Education:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a factory/industrial environment. This role routinely uses hand tools, computer, barcode scanner, weight scale, wrapper, and other moving and shipping equipment including forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electric shock and hazardous equipment, loud noises from machinery as well as heat and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderately loud. Safety glasses and sturdy closed-toe shoes are required in plant. Hearing protection is recommended (required in certain areas).

Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.

This position does not typically require travel outside the local area or overnight.
