Logistics Specialist

to join our operations team in Omaha. This role is crucial to maintaining our reputation for proactive communication and transparency.

Responsibilities:

The core focus of this position is ensuring our team and our customers are always informed about the status of their freight. Your primary duties will include:

Proactive ETA Tracking:

Calling trucking companies and drivers to obtain accurate, real-time Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs) for all active full truckload shipments.

Customer Communication:

Promptly informing customer representatives of any delays, discrepancies, or changes to delivery schedules.

TMS Data Entry:

Utilizing our Transportation Management System (TMS) to log and update all tracking information, ensuring a single source of truth for the operations team.

Documentation:

Gathering necessary information from carriers regarding proof of delivery (PODs) and other documentation as needed.

Issue Flagging:

Escalating major delays, breakdowns, or potential service failures immediately to the Operations Manager.

Blind bols:

Gathering bols, scale tickets, and other documents from drivers and dispatchers in order to create blind bols for deliveries into our customers.

Qualifications: What You Bring

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Technical Proficiency:

Must be highly proficient in

Microsoft Office

applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Communication Skills:

Strong, professional, and clear telephone etiquette and verbal communication skills. You must be comfortable making frequent, outbound calls.

Typing Speed:

Ability to type accurately and proficiently to quickly update tracking notes and communication logs.

Industry Experience (Preferred):

Prior experience working with

TMS software

(e.g., McLeod, Aljex, MercuryGate, etc.) is a significant plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
