Job Description

Job Overview:
Linde is seeking qualified applicants for our Off-Shift Logistics Manager role. This position will typically work four (4), 10-hour shifts per week, with additional time worked as needed. Workdays will typically be Mon-Thurs and Tues-Fri, but all schedules are subject to business need and may be subject to change. The Logistics Manager must demonstrate initiative in handling distribution issues, be self-motivated, dependable, and promote a learning and cooperative work culture.
This position works right on the planning floor: actively monitoring, guiding and coaching planners without being in an office.
Responsibilities:

  • Reports to one or more Integrated Planning Managers, to execute overall strategies leading to the lowest overall cost of delivered product to merchant customers in the assigned territories.
  • Primary duty is to develop newer planners past their classroom training, to ensure top KPI performance, special project assignments and prepare them for day shift planning/promotion. This includes:
  • Creating classroom, e-learning and other training curriculum based upon input from IPM's and Executive Director
  • Running approximately three annual New Hire Training programs; typically held during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, but ultimately timing is determined by the business needs.
  • Developing, maintaining, and executing continuous learning strategies, methodologies and output based on emerging needs.
  • Regularly reviews and modifies training curriculum, and updates policies, procedures as improvements are solidified.
  • Responsible for a group of planners within 1 or more regions/product lines.
  • Establishes goals for Planners in the areas of Safety, Reliability, and Efficiency in alignment with the appropriate business region.
  • Manages the documentation and analysis of Quality Incident Reports and Near Misses, ensuring the goal of zero customer runouts.
  • Provides direct management to a group of Planners with regards to setting individualized professional and personal development goals, while managing these performances through the Performance Management Process (PMP).
  • Primary backup for 1 or more day shift planning managers for vacations, sick time and Linde business.
  • You will work directly within the team to provide a team schedule to ensure overall coverage for the business requirements.
  • Provides a detailed rundown for the IPM before leaving each day.
  • Takes call for the first half of 3rd shift, as needed during scheduled work days. Additional call or hours as needed to cover management vacancies.
  • Approximately 5% overnight travel time required.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related field required or equivalent experience in a fast paced, decision making, logistical environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' Operational/Logistical planning experience required.
  • Demonstrated super user of Atlas, PALS and other departmental programs.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 2+ years of Management/Supervisory experience preferred.

Salary:
Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $76,500 - $112,200.
