The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees all shipping and receiving operations for Mid-States Material Handling and Fabrication. This role ensures the efficient coordination of outbound shipments, accurate processing of inbound deliveries, and proper inventory management. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, end users, and internal teams to support smooth and accurate logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the preparation of products for shipment to customers and vendors.
Verify quantities and quality for all incoming materials.
Oversee proper packaging, securing, and labeling of shipments, including carrier-specific requirements.
Coordinate shipping schedules and vendor lead times with management.
Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, noting any overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to schedule inbound shipments.
Ensure all required documentation and product information accompany outgoing shipments.
Assist in negotiating inbound and outbound freight rates and analyze cost-saving opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement in shipping and receiving processes.
Generate and maintain safety, maintenance, and compliance records.
Manage freight shipments with Mid-States Crane & Trucking and other third-party logistics vendors.
Schedule and coordinate Mid-States Crane & Trucking drivers and source backhauls when possible.
Obtain DOT permits as needed for oversized or special loads.
Provide oversight of general maintenance, housekeeping, and coordination of local pickups and deliveries.
Qualifications
Valid Driver's License; Class A CDL

2-4 years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, or Logistics.
Experience with ERP systems required.
Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Skilled in operating powered industrial vehicles (PIVs), overhead cranes, and related equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
