Position Overview

This position is a key resource in managing and reducing Oldcastle Infrastructure\xe2\x80\x99s transportation costs, including both private fleet, as well as third party. This person will be focused on building the overall logistics & freight strategy design and will be responsible for execution. The Logistics Manager is responsible for assisting in site reporting of safety, as it relates to FMCSA, DOT, and CSA. This position will also assist in recruiting third party haulers that meet both CRH\xe2\x80\x99s safety & insurance requirements and championing the sustainability strategy as it relates to decarbonization and Scope 3 emissions. As a member of the global logistics category team, this role will utilize the category management process to develop strategies, execute tenders, establish effective supply programs and manage the overall success of the programs. The role ensures that local business requirements are considered in the category strategy. The Logistics Manager will build strong relationships and work directly with key internal stakeholders, suppliers, CRH procurement personnel, specifiers, subject matter experts, management, and others to ensure program objectives are achieved.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Alignment with key stakeholders as well as market and global procurement strategies.
  • Assist with creation and execution of overall freight strategy in collaboration with the business and Global Category Team.
  • Conduct freight lane review and sourcing activities with the business in collaboration with Global Category Team to identify savings opportunities. Evaluates contracts, service agreements, and suppliers to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders including final contract negotiations.
  • Accountable for procurement KPI Performance Management reporting and process adherence.
  • Ensures execution of S2P process (from screening to onboarding and lifecycle management) for Logistics suppliers.
  • Maintains strategic relationships with key suppliers, develops, and maintains strategic relationships with internal Logistics stakeholders, and CRH North American Logistics partners.
  • Champion load optimization & efficiencies, decarbonization strategy, and scope 3 emission reductions.
  • Analyzes supply market, anticipates changes, and drives associated third party carrier activities.
  • Responsible for identifying private fleet safety systems in collaboration with Global Category Team, such as telematics, ELD, cameras, etc and working with the business to implement.
  • Identify and implement appropriate software transportation management systems (TMS) for use by Oldcastle Infrastructure sites that help standardize process and leverage spend. Work with the CRH Global Category Team on maintenance of strategic supplier accounts utilized by TMS.
  • Primary contact person for the business in all Logistical aspects of organization (Transportation, private fleet, FMCSA, DOT, CSA reporting etc\xe2\x80\xa6)
  • Helps to educate compliance and assist with KPI reporting with respect to overall strategy and FMCSA, DOT and CSA regulations.

Education/Experience
  • Educated with a Supply Chain, Logistics / Transportation or Business Degree
  • 5+ years of transportation/logistics/supply-chain experience preferred
  • Experience in managing LTL/FTL, rail, ocean, air, parcel, and 3rd party haulers highly preferred
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus
  • Willing to cooperate in cross-functional CRH projects
