Responsibilities

Coordinate daily dispatch operations for freight shipments, ensuring optimal routing and scheduling using transportation management systems such as Roadload, PowerPro and Mover Suite. Utilize GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other tracking tools to monitor vehicle locations, improve route efficiency, and troubleshoot issues in real-time. Manage fleet operations by overseeing vehicle maintenance schedules, tracking driver hours, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette to relay instructions clearly and resolve issues promptly. Input and maintain accurate data entry records related to shipments, delivery statuses, and driver logs using AS400 or similar systems, like Samsara, Roadload and Movers Suite. Supervise transportation routes considering supply chain demands, freight priorities, and delivery windows to maximize efficiency while minimizing costs. Oversee shipping & receiving activities, including documentation verification, freight handling, and coordination with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or service enhancements through detailed analysis skills. Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies during dispatching activities. Maintain organized records of all dispatch logs, incident reports, shipment details, and fleet management documentation for audit purposes.

Experience

Proven experience in transportation management or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment. Strong familiarity with transportation planning tools such as Roadload, Powerpro, Movers Suite and Samsara is preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in GPS technology, GIS applications, and transportation management systems (TMS) spaciffically Samsara. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and courteously. Skilled in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 or similar platforms; typing speed is advantageous. Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures and fleet management practices. Experience working with 3PL providers or in shipping & receiving roles is a plus. Analytical mindset capable of assessing logistics workflows for continuous improvement opportunities. Pay: $48,187.23 - $65,000.00 per year
