Projects and identifies finisher hog sales using market hog sales requirements and schedules while assisting in the oversight of selector performance and conducting training and audits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
& TASKS
Oversee key performance indicators for selectors in region and implement individual and/or group trainings to address deficiencies in performance.
Perform selector site audits and conduct in-field follow-ups for sites suspected of selecting/loadout issues and communicate results to necessary parties.
Participate in monthly/quarterly marketing strategy discussions with supervisor.
Assesses hog body composition in finishing sites to project sales of hogs according to marketing requirements.
Identifies and marks hogs to be moved or sold to the appropriate destination.
Delivers load movement paperwork to necessary farm sites in a timely fashion.
Communicates regularly with supervisor and production about group performance and provides data through written reports and email correspondence.
Counts inventory and number of hogs scheduled for sale as applicable.
Assists other team members to effectively meet department and company goals.
Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.

REQUIREMENTS

Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred; minimum one to three years swine production experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A clear and valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK
ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations. The employee is frequently exposed to waste material, feed and hog dust.
