Duties

Safely load and unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes to move heavy materials efficiently. Conduct thorough order picking and ensure accurate shipping and receiving processes using RF scanners and warehouse management systems. Assist with inventory management by organizing materials within the warehouse and preparing items for shipment or storage. Operate heavy equipment with mechanical knowledge to handle large or awkward loads while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Support warehouse distribution activities by stacking pallets, securing loads, and ensuring proper placement for easy access. Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety guidelines, including heavy lifting techniques and proper materials handling procedures. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate loading/unloading schedules and report any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.

Experience

Prior experience in warehouse distribution or shipping & receiving environments is highly preferred. Hands-on experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or pallet jacks is essential; certification is a plus. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling is required. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picker technology enhances efficiency. Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues is advantageous. Previous roles involving construction or heavy lifting demonstrate strong physical capability for this position. Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with inventory control processes will support success in this role.
