Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative

to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet and providing exceptional service to both customers and drivers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the trucking industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Driver Monitoring and Support

: Throughout the day, monitor the progress of assigned drivers, dispatching new assignments as needed. Provide assistance with navigation and help resolve any issues encountered at shipper or receiver locations.

Load Data Entry

: Accurately enter all load information into the dispatch software, ensuring the correctness and completeness of rates, customer details, and all other pertinent load information.

Email Management

: Efficiently navigate and interpret email communications to extract essential load details and rate information.

Driver Communication and Planning

: Clearly communicate daily work expectations to assigned drivers, confirming they have sufficient time to complete their planned routes and tasks.

Freight Acquisition

: Utilize DAT and Truckstop load boards, as well as emailed load lists, to identify and secure freight opportunities. This includes understanding the current location and capabilities of assigned drivers to make informed dispatch decisions.

Load Assignment

: Assign loads to both company drivers and outside carriers, meticulously verifying the accuracy of all load details and rates before dispatch

Load Planning:

Plan truck loads to minimize empty miles, maximize efficiency, and increase revenue.

Driver Tracking & Dispatching:

Track drivers throughout the day using GPS software and dispatch them efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.

Customer Interaction:

Communicate with customers about load status, transit delays, rate questions, and other service-related inquiries.

Freight Acquisition:

Monitor load lists, load boards, and collaborate with customers to secure freight.

Load Assignment:

Assign loads to company drivers and owner-operators, providing all necessary information to ensure timely and damage-free deliveries.

Appointment Scheduling:

Schedule and coordinate appointments for loading and delivery as per customer requirements.

Data Entry:

Enter load information accurately into the ITS software system.

Driver Assistance:

Assist drivers with any issues or concerns during their trips to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Some experience in the trucking industry, especially in dispatching and customer service, is required.

Attention to Detail:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Multitasking Skills:

Able to handle various responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Punctuality & Organization:

Punctual and highly organized, with the ability to manage time effectively.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise between drivers and customers.

Computer Proficiency:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, email, internet, and general computer skills.

Pressure Handling:

Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy or stressful situations.
