Purpose
:
The position exists to manage the operational affairs of the liquid plant and to provide leadership and direction to the employees assigned to that work location.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Safely perform assigned work and look out for the safety of others
Manage the daily operations and functions of the plant including safety, blending, loading/unloading, plant maintenance, inventory management, customer service, and establishing & maintaining standard operating procedures
Ensures timely delivery of the correct product to the customer by coordinating the blending operations, with Dispatch and the drivers
Oversight of all tanks, pumps, hoses, mixers, etc. in the plant and the maintenance of that equipment & tooling. Ensure proper maintenance of the foregoing to minimize down time, ensure quick turnaround, and give direction in priority of tasks
Manage employees; this includes, but not limited to, ensuring adherence to company policies, managing employee work hours, daily scheduling of employee tasks, assigning tasks, assisting in recruitment and retention to maintain adequate and competent staff, etc.
Responsible for oversight of proper unloading and processing of incoming inventory; has the lead on ensuring proper inventory of required materials and additives
Maintain outside appearances of physical plants to ensure public image is positive
Aid in creating process improvements and improve efficiencies; lead plant projects as assigned
Work with safety coordinator to protect employees from accidents and injury.
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
8+ years' experience in the agriculture industry to include system and equipment maintenance - required
Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems - required
Strong ability to organize and prioritize work flows and work order sequences - required
Prior experience managing and leading people; strong teamwork skills - preferred
Formal post-high school education in one or more of the skilled trades - preferred
Requirements:
Sit, stand, lift frequently; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
Bend, twist, climb, reach, kneel, crawl frequently
