Job Description

Objective The basic objective of this position is to oversee the complete function of the Packing Line including personnel management, packing line equipment, maintaining quality control. Qualifications ? Person must have knowledge of fruit sizes, varieties, machinery and supplies ? Ability to train ? Knowledge of personnel management ? Basic math, computer and clerical skills ? Excellent communication and personal interactive skills ? Ability to perform detailed functions and make quick informative decisions during periods of high pressure Elements of Position ? Supervise and train personnel ? Coordinate with Sales, Quality Control, Logistics and Production Lines ? Interact with other Pack Line Supervisors for consistency in performance ? Complete appropriate administrative paperwork ? Resolve all types of problems as they arise ? Monitoring of product quality and packing supplies needed to operate ? Technical knowledge of production equipment for maintaining optimum output ? Monitor and dictate line speed according to quality Physical requirements ? Constant leg/foot use, and handling, frequently walking and climbing ? Occasional sitting, standing, crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling. ? Rarely kneeling, crawling or balancing ? Senses: Speaking, hearing, sight (near, far, color), smell Environmental factors ? Work area is inside except. Area is well ventilated with noise, well lit; Majority of work is performed in packing rooms and in office settings Safety factors ? Hazards encountered include; wet slippery floors, foot traffic, forklifts and chemicals.
