Job Title:
Line Cook
The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of food items, including soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts, in a restaurant setting. They will be expected to ensure the observance of safe and sanitary food handling practices and follow recipes to create delicious dishes that meet the standards of the restaurant.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Adhere to and enforce government health regulations and ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices are observed
Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper organization
Set up the cooking line with the necessary equipment and ingredients for the day's menu
Read work orders, instructions, and recipes to prepare food items accurately
Cook, season, and plate food items according to recipes and presentation guidelines
Test foods to ensure proper cooking, seasoning, and temperature
Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
Prepare specialty food items and desserts as required
Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fruits and vegetables
Process orders from the point of sale system in a timely and accurate manner
Assist in serving prepared food from the steam table and prepare food items for service
Carve and trim meats for hot or cold service or for sandwiches
Portion, arrange, and garnish food items and serve to customers or servers
Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
Maintain a clean and organized cooking station, including a breakdown and cleaning at the end of the shift
Attend training and development sessions as required
Is responsible for knowing MVCC employee policies and procedures and working by the MVCC core values
Perform any other duties or requests assigned by the Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, or General Manager.
Maintain regular attendance on Mesa Verde Country Club property

Education and/or Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
+ Country Club experience preferred.
+ 1+ years of experience in a restaurant kitchen is preferred
