Position Overview

Melodic Movements Dance Studio is seeking a skilled and reliable Lighting and Sound Technician for our annual December Holiday Show. The technician will be responsible for operating all lighting and sound elements during the rehearsal and live performance, ensuring seamless transitions and a professional-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and manage all lighting and sound equipment during the show. Attend and run the same-day show rehearsal to confirm cues, timing, and technical needs. Ensure all audio levels, lighting cues, and transitions are executed flawlessly throughout the event. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise before or during the show. Collaborate with studio staff, stage managers, and performers to ensure all cues align with the performance schedule. Access and utilize provided music files, cue sheets, and lighting notes housed in Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Sheets, etc.). Maintain a professional, calm, and solutions-focused presence throughout the event.

Qualifications

Prior experience running lighting and sound for live performances, dance recitals, theater productions, or similar events. Familiarity with standard stage lighting and soundboard equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced rehearsal environment. Competency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets). Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Problem-solving skills and the ability to stay composed under pressure.

Approximate call time: 12:00 PM Expected end time: 8:00 PM Full schedule includes rehearsal and performance operations.
Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
