Position Summary:

As a Lighting Installer at Apex Lighting, you'll be responsible for installing and servicing permanent exterior lighting systems on residential homes throughout Idaho. You'll work closely with the sales and scheduling teams to complete each job efficiently, safely, and to Apex's quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, pays attention to detail, and wants to specialize in premium lighting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Install 12V RGBWW LED track lighting systems on soffits, gutters, and rooflines. Measure, cut, and mount track precisely for clean, professional installations. Wire and connect power supplies, controllers, and LEDs following Apex Lighting's procedures. Test and calibrate color settings, brightness, and app connectivity for each system. Communicate with the homeowner during and after installation to ensure full satisfaction. Maintain a clean job site, remove debris, and provide final photo documentation of the install. Report job completion details to Apex Lighting's project coordinator.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to get to and from job sites. No experience required -- full training provided. However, prior experience in permanent lighting, roofing, electrical, or low-voltage installs is a plus. Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and outdoor conditions year-round. Proficient with hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clear installation instructions. Dependable, punctual, and professional with homeowners and teammates. Ability to work independently or as part of a small team. Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing repetitive movement.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

Experience installing permanent holiday lighting systems (e.g., RGBWW, app-controlled). Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems (12V). Experience with soffit, fascia, gutter, or roofing work. Familiarity with smart-home or lighting-control apps.

Compensation & Structure:

Pay: $20/hr during training, then performance-based pay averaging $30-$50/hr (equivalent to $1.00-$1.50+ per ft installed).
After training your will move to getting paid per foot there is when you can earn $1-$2+ per foot

Top installers earn $1,200-$2,000+ per week depending on speed, quality, and job size.

Training: $20/hr (typically first week while learning installation process). After training: Paid per foot or per job, based on total footage installed. Most jobs range from 100-300+ ft, with pay structured so skilled installers consistently exceed hourly equivalent pay. Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends during the busy season. Work Locations: Throughout Idaho, primarily based around Idaho Falls Employment Type: Independent contractor (1099).
