Job Description

Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) is in search for an exceptionally organized and engaging Life Enrichment Coordinator to create and oversee the activities program in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) in the Reno, NV area. To this end, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents in our contracted SNFs.

To be successful as a Life Enrichment Coordinator, this person should devise programs that are sufficiently diverse and sensitive to our occupants\' needs, including differences in physical and cognitive abilities. They should also be able to gauge individual interests, conceptualize appropriate activities, and analyze uptake to ensure that the program remains stimulating.

Duties Assigned

• Collaborating with staff and clinicians to understand the ways in which activities can promote healing and belonging.
• Conducting needs assessments to ascertain physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
• Determining individual interests and expectations regarding leisure time.
• Coordinate and facilitate group activities, such as games, crafts, music, exercise, and outings.
• Conduct one-on-one activities with residents who are unable to participate in group activities.
• Determining and overseeing the use of available finances.
• Purchasing or leasing supplies for all activities.
• Advertising events well in advance of their scheduled times.
• Supervising and participating in events alongside staff and occupants.
• Compiling periodic reports that outline successes, constraints, and the way forward.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity area.

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility or related healthcare setting.
• Experience working as an Activities Director, Activities Coordinator, Life Enrichment Director or Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker (PSR) in Skilled Nursing / Assisted Living environment preferred.
• Activities Professional Certification preferred, but not required.
• Moderate computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, their loved ones and other professionals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Some travel required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 hourly.
