Schowalter Villa is looking for a part-time (16hrs/week) Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team!
Position Overview:
The primary function of the Catered Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator is to help develop, implement, and coordinate resident activities and outings that meet the mental, physical, and psychosocial needs of the residents. In addition to planning and leading life enrichment programming, this role includes coordinating meal logistics with internal and external partners. The Life Enrichment Coordinator supports the overall Catered Independent Living program by assisting with meal delivery, transportation, and supporting hospitality while helping foster a vibrant, connected, and welcoming community environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Life Enrichment Coordination
+ Prepare and assist with weekly calendar and program newsletter
+ Provide weekly menus for Monday meals
+ Arrange with Hesston Bakery and Cafe for pickup and delivery of meals
+ Coordinate monthly lunch outings as well as coordinate and plan holiday meals
+ Set up and maintain seasonal holiday decor around the building
+ Organize and help residents with displaying items in the display cases in Mid Towne Lounge
+ Coordinate and provide information on weekly movies for residents to watch
+ Coordinate other outings to nearby attractions and events
+ Coordinate and arrange refreshments for gatherings and other events
+ Assist with delivery of groceries to homes when residents go on shopping trips Provide a welcoming presence for the Catered Independent Living office by greeting residents and guests, answering phone calls, and answering or referring inquiries
Provide administrative support as needed for the program
Be knowledgeable of resident preferences and actively work to increase programs ability to meet preferences
Deliver meals as needed and according to resident preferences
Document and update team of interactions with residents
Provide transportation to residents as needed by the program
Assist with program services and building needs as needed
Respond to resident needs and requests
Direct questions about program pricing, services and scheduling to the Department Director
Direct medical/health questions to the Care Coordinator
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and family meetings as needed
Interpret to residents, other staff members, resident families, and the outside community the purpose and benefits of the Catered Independent Living program
Promote campus and community resources to residents and families
Participate in working a holiday rotation for meal delivery and essential services to Catered Independent Living residents
Qualifications and Experience:
Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
Must meet Bluestem Driver requirements and have proof of active auto insurance
Physical Requirements:
Light Work Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
Offered compensation: $16/hr
