Leads the in-house Licensing & Permit Team for the organization, as well as communicates and follows up with operations, management, team members, merchants, external licensing partners and various governmental regulatory agencies. Performs day to day duties for licensing programs across the company to ensure timely processing of permits and applications; performing follow-up phone calls to ensure timeliness of response from other departments and various regulatory agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the oversight of licensing application process for multiple operational sites to meet internal and external deadlines.
Maintain and update licensing information in the company system of record, ensuring active status and compliance with all government issued licenses and permits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve compliance concerns in a timely manner.
Researches and communicates the status of permits to various stakeholders.
Assists in managing store and employee license requirements.
Manage, monitor and track Corrective Action items, ensuring compliance and adherence to all requirements.
Ongoing improvement in data maintenance within the licensing team.
Foster internal and external relationships to optimize business.
Support licensing team as the primary contact for all internal teams; including finance, operations, HR, legal, and Upper Management.
Primary contact with various governmental agencies regarding more complex regulatory matters, both written and verbal.
Create and follow through on status updates for assigned licensing projects.
Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure continuous compliance with evolving requirements.
Communicate with internal and external teams.
Track and process licensure renewals and updating internal records
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of previous relevant work experience preferred.
High School Diploma is required, an Associates degree from an U.S. accredited Community College is preferred.
Ability to comprehend and effectively explain complex government regulations and compliance matters. A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance procedures is required.
Strong communication, teamwork, problem solving and decision-making skills are required.
Excellent research skills and techniques.
Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, including timely follow-up in expediting exceptions.
Exhibit Leadership principals, leading, training, coaching and developing Team Members to exceed expectations.
Process Improvement experience preferred.
Comprehensive working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, Teams and OneDrive
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document management and record-keeping, along with superior data entry skills is preferred.
Must be able to multi-task in fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.
Must be a professional self-starter able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment to ensure that all assignments are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Exceptional organization and interpersonal skills, the ability to troubleshoot and exercise discretion with regard to confidential projects and issues.
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift/move up to 10 pounds. May lift/move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
