Up to FT Hours available
Wage- $35/HR

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:
1. Vocational Nurse License in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
2. Current CPR
3. Professional Liability Protection MANDATORY
EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum two years recent experience working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
SKILLS & ABILITY:
1. High level of proficiency with Microsoft office applications, hospital software applications.
2. Ability to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure situation.
3. Ability to organize and manage an office setting and work with all.
4. Experience supervising staff including performance management, and task direction.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member; establish and maintain
cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, and
exercise judgment by participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of
patient care according to board standards.
6. Behavior consistent with the hospital's Standards of Performance.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by the Texas Board of Nursing and in compliance with the policies, procedures and standards of the facility
2. Accepts clinical responsibility and professional accountability for the care delivered to assigned
patients.
3. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, fulfilling responsibilities as a
member of the nursing discipline.
4. Complies with The Ethical Framework for Nurses
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of patients according to established policies and procedures, in combination with evolving individualized care plans and setting care priorities.
2. Performs nursing procedures such as catheterizations, dressings (sterile and non-sterile), blood pressures, temperature, pulse, respiration.
3. Receives and processes doctors' orders according to policies and procedures. Transcribes orders onto appropriate patient/resident record and processes written orders as needed.
4. Document care provided such as assessments, status, progress, treatments, changes in condition, medications administered in manual and/or computerized environment.
5. Dispenses and administers medications including narcotics (using eMAR system) as required, including oral, topical, subcutaneous injections and intramuscular injections according to established procedures and monitors medication's effects. Maintains communication with RN or other members of the interdisciplinary team as required.
6. Assesses and monitors patient's actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs. Records observations as per facility guidelines/format (e.g. MDS, Point Click Care, Pixalere), and reports any significant changes/problems in resident's condition such as mobility, temperature, skin integrity, appetite and/or behaviour, to RN. or Nurse-in-charge.

1. Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
2. Must provide satisfactory Level 2 Background Check
3. Must maintain Vocational Nurse Licensing in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
4. Health and Safety Policies & Procedures
